At its core, Beacon helps educators translate complex IEP goals into actionable, student-facing materials that make learning objectives accessible and meaningful for students with diverse cognitive and developmental needs.

The platform enables teachers to organize student caseloads, create and track IEP goals across academic, functional, and social-emotional domains, and generate a suite of instructional artifacts — including goal explanation sheets, self-monitoring data trackers, task analyses, rubrics, mastery certificates, and progress displays. Each artifact is tailored to the student's cognitive profile and can be customized, edited, and printed for classroom use. Built-in progress monitoring tools allow teachers to record data points over time, visualize trends, and share clear progress updates with parents and administrators.

Beacon is built for special education professionals working with students from Pre-K through grade 12, including those supporting students with intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and other learning differences. The platform prioritizes student dignity and privacy: all document processing through the AI assistant is designed around a redaction-first workflow, ensuring that personally identifiable information never enters the system. Teachers are guided through a clear redaction manual before uploading any documents.
